Why you want to be a PTA member!

In October, the GSES Partners in Education (P.I.E.) group voted with overwhelming support to become an official PTA (Parent Teacher Association). There are HUGE benefits to this, not only for our school and our students, but for children nation-wide as well. The national PTA advocates for education reform and child welfare.

As a parent, here are a few direct reasons why to become a member of the PTA:
Individual members have access to a number of exclusive benefits too, including:

• Online parenting resources, including select articles from Our Children magazine.
• E-newsletters on parenting and legislative issues.
• Exclusive National PTA member benefits and sponsor offers.
• Leadership training opportunities in-person and online.
• Discounted member rate for PTA’s annual national convention, magazine subscriptions, and more.
• The Member-to-Member Network, connecting you to Congress when help is needed on issues important to children, schools, and families.

Additionally, while the GSES PTA always welcomes and values the input of every parent/guardian and teacher - to have a vote in any "official" PTA business (approving by-laws, budgets, fundraising requests, voting for new directors, etc.) you must be a PTA member.

An annual PTA membership is affordable for everyone at just $6.25. New members are always welcome, no matter what time of the year!
